A few days ago, I finished reading a book by John C. Maxwell titled the 360-degree leader. It took me quite a number of weeks but I’m glad that I still managed to complete it.
The book is such a pleasure to read that I’ve decided to take the opportunity to update my blog as well. As I flipped through those very invaluable pages, I asked myself – why didn’t I read this book earlier in my career? It would have saved me lots of headaches finding a way to manage my job or at least, the book would have provided me with reasons to keep me going when the going was tough… if only…
But to come back to the main point, I would recommend anyone seriously looking into upgrading his/her career and finding work meaningful again, to read this awesome book. As the title of the book suggests, most people working in an organization are not sitting at the top where senior management sits and they may not be exactly at the bottom of the organization chain as well. Most of us are sitting in the middle of the organization.
And this is an area where the book shines, it presents to readers that the folks in the middle of the organization are the people that make things happen and when these people are able to lead up, lead across, and lead down, will a team of leaders be formed.
The journey towards becoming a 360-degree leader is by no means an easy feat. The book not only discusses but shows readers how to go about becoming a 360-degree leader. I’m sure that if you were to pick up this book, it will be an invaluable asset to your library collection but most importantly, it will leap frog you in your career towards becoming a true and real leader.
Agree with you bro! Middle Managers are the ones that make things happen! I have many of his books .. and read it when I was younger. =) I haven’t finish the 360 — but with your sharing.. I will!

I’m always ready to come back to the exciting world of OD but I’m seeking a different perspective at the moment so that I can contribute more in the future… if you get what i mean!
John Maxwell is a great leader. I always find myself reading one of his books or tweets because he is so good at inspiring you to continue with what you are working on. Great post!
