Coming back to the universe of blogging sure feels strange. The wordpress interface looked all so different now after a few months of posting hiatus. But I won’t be sulking it up and complain about life which honestly at this point in time, there is nothing to complain about. Life has been treating me good and well. And I can only give thanks to the one who had made me.
Today’s “return” post features the all new macbook air which countless blogs and websites have featured in the past one to two months. I am, however, not deterred by that and will be babbling about the macbook air for just a little bit.
After using the macbook air 13″ for the past few weeks, I have absolutely nothing to grumble about. This thin and light notebook is indeed a popular mac. It boots up in approximately 15 seconds after a few weeks of use and shuts down in 5 seconds or less. This means that the speed which the MBA is operating at is as close as you can get with turning on and off an iPhone.
It runs all office applications fast and multitasking with video and iTunes turned on in the background almost don’t slow the beast down one bit. It feels responsive even with a 2 gb of ram. By today’s standard, 2 gb of ram is measly and nothing to write home about. The MBA, however, juggles all tasks throw at it like a seasoned juggler. If you’ve seen a juggler juggling 5 – 6 balls at any one time, you get the idea what I’m talking about.
This illusion of speed is perhaps, as reported, visible due to the flash based harddisk that comes along with it. I’m using a 128 gb version of the MBA and so far, I’d say that that’s the only qualm that I have with the MBA. 128 gb is usable but it surely made my life a little tougher when attempting to migrate my existing data from my old laptop. I won’t go into the details but I presume that you get the idea.
Last words? It has a high-res screen, it’s feather-light, it’s robust and it surely managed to turn some heads during the 1st week of purchase. Not too bad for a technology gadget. We, do know that there is no perfection in this world and the macbook air is surely constraint by that universal rule. It isn’t equipped with a dvd-rom but I can live with it. Can you?

Aww… this MBA thing is too much … makes me glued to the screen for a while… we recently bought one too… I think it will replace some of our older MBP … haha…
My wife may consider getting one too … MBA is great!! woo hoo~
Yes it is… I’ve been on it for a month and it has made me more mobile… light and I don’t have to carry the heavy adapter cable around with me!!! Good to know that the office is getting some new ones =) I thought I should have gone for a 256 gb of space… but there’s always workaround!!!
